May is Older American’s Month and in honor of Older American’s Month your gift will be used to support the growing needs of maintaining Martha’s Cottage, including the creation of Martha’s Fund to ensure that this program is sustainable for years to come.
The Full Envelope Fund….
Is for victims of abuse. Our goal is to have an envelope of cash gathered bit by bit over time, to provide the basic necessities for victims of abuse to help them transition to freedom and safety.
General Donations….
These unrestricted gifts will support not only the work specifically to help victims of elder abuse, but the educational programs offered throughout Maine, and our ongoing advocacy programs.

In the majority of cases, the perpetrator is a family member or caregiver.Family shelters often do not meet the needs of elders and therefore hotels become the only viable option for the elder. The offender knows this reality, and often capitalizes on the elder's fear of being alone or institutionalized.
