The Elder Abuse Institute offers a variety of educational and outreach services to communities, agencies and individuals throughout the State of Maine.
We provide training and consultation related to elder abuse, neglect and exploitation.
We advocate on behalf of victims for effective local and national policy development.
We make referrals for victims and their families to ensure access to support services.
We assist communities to build coalitions involving a variety of local and state partnerships.
Because family members are the primary abusers violence focused on elders is often considered family business, and often not treated as a serious crime.
